Seth Weatherford
and
Mark Jackson
first met in 1998 while performing solo acts
around various venues in the Texas Hill
Country. In 2001 they collaborated their
songwriting talents and together began
performing as a duo for special events,
house concerts, restaurants and bars.
Weatherford, with his distinctive edgy
harmonica and southern blues piano-man style
approach combined with Jackson’s background
in Bluegrass and progressive folk have
homespun a montage of songs that critics and
listeners both describe as
“South Of The Border/Texas
Blues Roots”.
In 2003 they sparked the interest of
accomplished musicians such as the pastiche
acoustical picking of
Steve Schulte;
lead guitarist and mandolin,
the blues/rockin’ riffs of
Barrett Beach;
bassist,
and the sultry beat of
Tom Goodwyn;
drummer.
Their savoir-faire and
skillful composing underlie the inspiration
of the band which has landed them in the
studio recording their first cd. Together
now as a “band of locals” they have
delighted audiences with their original
Texas style music which they tag as
“Texicana and Roots” at the legendary Nelson
City Dance Hall, Auslanders, Chili’s “Party
on the Patio” and was introduced by host
Bill Smallwood at the `04 Texas Folk Life
Festival in San Antonio as one of the best
emerging bands to come out of the Hill
Country.
