Mission Statement of THMF:
The Texas Heritage Music Foundation was established in July 1987, to preserve and perpetuate the traditions of Texas music, to examine the background of Texas music, to trace influences and patterns in Texas music and to document the role Texas music has played in society.

Friday, September 27, 2002:
Living History Day in Louise Hays Park, Kerrville

Friday Reception for LHD performers and seminar participants at Cailloux Center, 5:00 pm.  Community invited.  At 6:00 pm Nolan Porterfield and Jack Edmondson will say a few words about the upcoming seminar.

Saturday, September 28, 2002:
Seminar for papers and presentations on any aspect of Texas heritage.  September 28, 10-noon
Cailloux Center Theatre; Featuring Dr. Gary Hartman, Nolan Porterfield (Life of Jimmie Rodgers), Jack Edmondson
(research) and student papers. Free

Sunday, September 29, 2002:
Fundraiser for THMF and Families and Literacy at 3:00 p.m., Dietert Auditorium on the Schreiner University Campus, Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines, tickets $15, call 830-367-3750 for information and tickets. Limited seating. For sale at Mi Ranchito in Kerrville and Ingram, Kerr Business Service, Wolfmueller's, 5 K Laser, AC Print, Families and Literacy office in River Oaks shopping center after June 25. Other locations TBA.

Literacy and Learning Concert Series
Sunday, 3:00 p.m. Dietert Auditorium
Schreiner University/Kerrville

Featuring:  Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines
Tickets go on sale July 15.  Sponsorships still available/provide tickets for families to attend; Proceeds benefit projects of Families and Literacy and the Texas Heritage Music Foundation.  Call Kerrville Families and Literacy (830-896-8787).
